Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a two car personal injury accident that occurred on Bayard St Ext in the Town of Seneca Falls. Deputies report that a vehicle operated by Llyod C. Burgess age 89 was traveling east on Bayard St Ext and had signaled to make a left hand turn into his residence at 3087 Bayard St Ext. Burgess failed to make the turn and entered back into east bound traffic where a vehicle operated by Craig VanVessem age 67 of 4866 State Route 89 Romulus NY 14541 was attempting to pass Burgess on the right. VanVessem over corrected his vehicle to avoid Burgess and entered into the southside ditch of Bayard St Ext smashing into a tree that was located on the property of 3092 Bayard St Ext. VanVessem was treated and the scene and transported to Geneva General Hospital by North Seneca Ambulance for complaints of pain to his arm and shoulder. VanVessems passanger Bonalyn H. VanVessem age 66 of 4866 State Route 89 suffered internal injuies and was flown by Mercy flight to Strong Mermorial Hospital and was treated for her injuries and released. Assisting at the scene was Red Jacket Fire Dept, North Seneca Ambulanc., Seneca Falls Police Dept and the New York State Park Police assisted with traffic control.
