The New York State Canal System closes today for all recreational and commercial vessel traffic at 5 p.m. The state Canal Corporation, because of low water levels, had initially moved closing dates up. Rain in late October pushed the closing back to today. These boats, on the Cayuga-Seneca Canal, were docked in Seneca Falls last weekend.
