Seneca County Sheriffs office reports, that Sheriff’s Navigation unit investigated a boat accident on Cayuga Lake at the Sheldarake Park. A boat being operated by Seth E. Holmberg age 28 of Ovid,NY was being operated in a northwesterly direction just south of Sheldrake Park when the boat was run aground and left the water.The investigation revealed that Holmberg was disoriented and became lost just prior to striking land. Holmberg and 4 occupants were uninjuried. Assisting at the scene was Interlaken Fire & South Seneca Ambulance. Holmberg was issued tickets for (list charges) No Personal flotation Device, No Type IV Flootation Device, No Anchor and line, and Reckless Operation of a Vessel and will appear Ovid Town court on November 19, 2007 at 7:00pm to answer the charges.
