Gould Hotel Purchased in SF; Will Open Spring ’08

JGB Properties will be opening the “newest old hotel” in upstate New York this coming Spring. In a real estate transaction estimated at five million dollars, JGB Properties of Liverpool, NY will be acquiring the Hotel Gould in Seneca Falls along with several other properties and opening a 39 room luxury hotel by the summer of 2008.”We are pleased and excited to add this wonderful historic building to our group of businesses, “explains Joachim Ohlin, manager for JGB Properties, which also operates the Red Mill Inn in Baldwinsville, “We look forward to offering the same level of gracious hospitality and world class service in Seneca Falls.”There has been a hotel at this site at the corner of Fall and State Streets, since the 1850’s and it remains a prominant structure in the Village. The building has been unoccupied for several years and is in need of general maintenance and upgrading.”The Seneca Falls Industrial Development Authority is pleased to assist such a viable and visionary business venture,” according to Bob Rosencrans, Chairman of the Seneca County IDA, “We are pleased to offer assistance to any business as well prepared as JGB Properties, and are vigilant in our responsibility to foster economic opportunity within our communities.” The IDA is rsponsible for coordinating the financial package that will allow this project to move forward quickly and efficiently.”It is essential for the economic vitality of this Village to have this Hotel operational,” observes Bob Buccieri, Director of the Seneca Falls Development Corporation, “and to have JGB Properties bring their expertise and business vision to this facility is everything we could ask for in a business partner to continue the revitalization of our village and town.” Buccieri plans several follow up meetings to help promote the new Hotel throughout the region and help build partnership programs among local businesses.Located between the National Women’s Rights Historic Park and the National Women’s Hall of Fame, the Hotel expects to be entertaining visitors to both these facilities and much more. “We look forward to working with the local wineries, farmers and other businesses to host tours and serve their excellent products in our hotel,” offers Ohlin, “There is a strong tourism resurgence in Central New York that we are thrilled to serve with our facilities. Our success in Baldwinsville with the Red Mill Inn gives us confidence in what Seneca Falls has to offer our business.” JGB Properties brings a management team that has worked with hotels throughout Florida and New York State, including the Mirbeau Inn & Spa in Skaneateles. The Village, Town and County IDA worked hard to make this deal a reality. “Bringing together experts from all levels of government and resources from many sources allowed Seneca Falls and the Seneca County IDA to put together a strong economic package,” said Peter Same, Town Supervisor for Seneca Falls and a member of the Board of Directors for the Seneca Falls Development Corporation. “It is just this kind of ‘get it done’ attitude we need to commit to and move economic development forward for our community.”Ohlin agrees, citing “The fact that everyone came together and offered their support, insight and assistance really inspired us to make this investment in Seneca Falls and we look forward to doing business in Seneca County.”The yet to be named Hotel will have banquet facilities, a full service restaurant and offer European style service and accomodations. Renovations to preserve and promote the historic nature of the facility should be completed by the Summer of 2008.
