Schuyler Chamber partners with national forest

Since early August, Visitor Center staff at the Schuyler County Chamber of Commerce have been joined by a uniformed staff member from the Finger Lakes National Forest.Visitor Information Specialist Marc Rea has been assisting with greeting and directing visitors to the area in a unique partnership between the Chamber and the only national forest in New York State.“We are fortunate to have this tremendous resource right here in our own backyard,” said Cynthia Kimble, Chamber President, “and we are proud to have taken a good working relationship with the National Forest to this new level.”“It’s a win-win,” said District Ranger, Michael Liu, “as our staff share information about and gain visibility for the forest, they also learn more about the area to offer forest users.”Rea works in the Watkins Glen-based Visitor Center each Saturday.For information, contact the Schuyler County Chamber of Commerce at (607) 535-4300 or email chamber@schuylerny.com
