Sheriff Leo T Connolly has announced that due to the demand an additional Boater Safety Class will be held at the new Seneca County Law Enforcement Center– (6150 Route 96 Romulus N.Y.), on July 14th 2007 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This class meets New York State requirements for persons age 10-18 to operate a motor boat and persons age 14 and older to operate personal watercraft–(Jet Skis). Students will receive their certification at the completion of the class which includes an exam. Students should bring a pen and pack a lunch. All other materials are provided. You must pre-register for the class as class space is limited. To register for the class call Investigator John Cleere at 315-220-3443. You can leave a voice mail with the names and ages of those attending along with a call back number. Or register by E-mail to jcleere@co.seneca.ny.us.This class is sponsored by the Seneca County Sheriff’s Department and is taught by Police and Navigation Officers. Students will learn boating rules and regulations as well as how to handle emergencies on the waterways.There is no charge for the course.
