State Police have released some details of a fatal accident Wednesday afternoon in Waterloo. According to police, a car made a left hand turn from Packwood Road onto Routes 5 and 20. The teenage driver accelerated quickly while turning, losing control of the car. The car crossed into oncoming traffic in the westbound lane, striking a motorcycle that made an attempt to swerve out of the way. The driver of the motorcycle- a Pennsylvania man – was pronounced dead at Geneva General Hospital. A passenger on the motorcycle-a Syracuse area woman- was taken by Mercy Flight to Strong Hospital in Rochester. She suffered life threatening injuries. No word on her condition. The driver of the car was uninjured. The names of those involved have not been released, pending notification of family.
