Auburn HS grad wins ITT Scholarship

ITT Corporation announced today that Mark DelloStritto, a senior at Auburn High School in Auburn, New York has been awarded an ITT scholarship to study Physics at the State University New York – Binghamton. Mark is the son of Maria and Joseph DelloStritto. Maria is employed by ITT Financial Resource Center in Seneca Falls as the Transactional Lean Master.DelloStritto is one of 25 sons and daughters of ITT Corporation employees selected to receive the company scholarship this year. Winners, selected on the basis of outstanding academic achievement and personal accomplishments, were chosen from a group of 170 applicants from the families of approximately 20,000 U.S.–based ITT Corporation employees.“We are proud to recognize these outstanding students, and to assist them in pursuing a higher education. We expect that they will follow in the footsteps of many past ITT scholarship winners who have gone on to promising careers in many fields,” said Steve Loranger, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of ITT Corporation. Under the program, the amount of each scholarship is based on the financial needs of the student recipient. Recipients can apply the funding toward an undergraduate degree at the college of their choice.Since 1980 when this program was established, 1,620 scholarships have been awarded. The program is administered by an independent organization called Scholarship and Recognition Programs, a division of the Educational Testing Service in Princeton, N.J. Winners were selected on their demonstrated academic achievement and promise, community service and leadership.
