The Seneca County Sheriff’s Department reports that at approximately 6:31 am Sheriff’s Deputies along with the Interlaken Fire Department responded to 8591 County Road 141A in the Town of Covert for the reported structure fire. Once on scene mutual aid was requested from Lodi Fire Department, Ovid Fire Department, Trumansburg Fire Department and Hector Valois Fire Department to assist in extinguishing the blaze. The structure which is owned by Daniel O’Reilly age 42 of 55 Aymar Ave. Staton Island, was an unnocupied residence which suffered major fire damage throughout the whole house. No further information is available at this time and the cause is still under investigation.
