Ithaca College’s “50 Hour Marathon”

Two disc jockeys from VIC Radio, Ithaca College’s internet-only radio station, will try to stay awake and keep their audience entertained during the station’s 50-hour charity marathon. In its 22nd year, the event is scheduled to begin on Friday, March 30, and run through Sunday, April 1. All proceeds from sponsorship of air time will benefit the Ithaca Free Clinic.“There are varying levels of tax-deductible sponsorship, but any donation is appreciated,” said Emma Wright, VIC Radio news director.For a minimum donation of $60, the sponsor will receive a sole hour of sponsorship, with 3 on-air mentions, and a website acknowledgement. For a minimum donation of $40, the sponsor will receive 3 on-air mentions within their sponsored hour and an acknowledgement on the station’s website. For a minimum donation of $30, the sponsor receives two on-air announcements of the sponsorship during their sponsored half-hour.A division of the Ithaca Health Alliance, the Ithaca Free Clinic opened in 2006 to provide healthcare to citizens of Tompkins County who have no health insurance, unaffordable deductibles, or insurance coverage for complementary/alternative medicine.
