Seneca County Native and Tony Nominated Actor Dies

A Tony nominated actor and Seneca County native 46-year old Daniel McDonald of Romulus has passed away. McDonald appeared on Broadway in such musicals as “Steel Pier” and “High Society,” He died last Thursday after suffering of brain cancer. McDonald was the youngest of seven children. His father was the high school principal and musical director at Romulus. Besides Broadway he also guest starred in a number of television series, including “Sex and the City” and “Law and Order”. He graduated from Ithaca College. McDonald’s brother Christopher is also a successful actor. Christopher McDonald is Hobart graduate and stared in several movies including “Thelma and Louise” and “Happy Gilmore.”
