A Waterloo woman escaped her burning home early Thursday morning. Sharon Valder was asleep at her home at 1623 Burgess Road when she woke just before 1:30 yesterday morning because her bedroom was full of smoke. Valder escaped her home unharmed. The fire reportedly started in the attached garage. Fire investigators are looking at heat-tape on pipes as the cause of the fire. The fire gutted the home.
