The proposed Wal-Mart Supercenter expansion got a green light from the Geneva Town Planning Board Tuesday night. The Board declared by a 4 to 1 vote that the expansion was not likely to have a significant negative impact on the environment. Patricia Mahoney cast the lone vote against allowing the project to move forward without further consideration by the planning board. The project still needs approval for a subdivision to include property purchased from Red Jacket Orchards. The Town Board also needs to approve a zoning change for land acquired for the project. The Town Board will hold a public hearing on the zoning change at their meeting January 9th. The Planning Board recommends that the town approve the change in zoning.
