The fourth annual Ithaca College Veterans Day celebration will be held on Thursday, Nov. 9, at noon in the Emerson Suites, Phillips Hall. The community is invited to attend the event, which honors those who have served and are still serving in the armed forces.President Peggy R. Williams will welcome special guest speaker Dave Juers, who served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1970. A dog handler while in Vietnam, Juers will share his amazing story of “walking point” 56 times with his dog.Music will be provided by the Brass Belles Quintet and the faculty-staff chorus IC VoICes, conducted by Susan Avery. The Ithaca College/Cornell University Air Force ROTC will again present the colors along with other tributes.The celebration will last 50 minutes. It is sponsored by the Ithaca College Veterans Committee and School of Music, along with the Newfield Service Unit, Girl Scouts Seven Lakes Council, Inc.
