The Seneca Falls Village Board agreed Monday night to join the town board in funding a new joint Economic Developer. To help pay for the position, the village board agreed to eliminate the Preservation and Planning Coordinator’s position. Fran Caracillo-who has worked for the village for 22-years- has held that position since 1991. Caracillo says he believes his job was eliminated in retaliation of his wife Gail’s lawsuit against the village. The federal lawsuit was filed in 2004 after she was fired from her job in the planning department. Caracillo says he’s never had a bad job performance review. The resolution approved Monday night calls for eliminating the Preservation and Planning Coordinators position when a new Economic Developer is hired or by December 31st which ever comes first.
