In response to an announcement that Lowe’s Home Improvement will open a new store in Border City, Town of Waterloo Supervisor Jim Mooney and the Waterloo Town Board extended a warm welcome to Lowe’s and applauded the firm’s decision to locate in Waterloo.“I feel that the site selected by Lowe’s will be ideal for their operations and we look forward to the jobs, investment, sales and property taxes, and increased business activity that the store will bring to Waterloo.” Mr. Mooney also commented that “Lowe’s will draw business from a wide area and should be an excellent addition to the Town’s business base. We look forwardto having Lowe’s as part of the Waterloo community and will do everything possible to assist the firm and pioneer development in bringing the project to fruition along with other new investments in the area that are sure to follow.”Mr. Mooney was joined in welcoming Lowe’s by Robert Shipley, County Supervisor from Waterloo and Chairman of the Seneca County Board of Supervisors. Mr. Shipley sated that “the decision by Lowe’s to come to Waterloo is very positive news for Waterloo as well as all of Seneca County. The Lowe’s project and other ancillary businesses that will be part of the development will certainly strengthen our local economy and improve our tax base. Accordingly, the Town and County will be pleased help in any way tofacilitate this important project”.
