NYCC Students To Attend Chiro Games in Texas

Sixty-three New York Chiropractic College student athletes will be heading for the Lone Star State in the early morning hours of September 21 to take part in the 15th Annual Chiropractic Games, a yearly sports event in which over 1,000 students from chiropractic colleges in the United States and Canada compete against each other. Hosted by Parker College of Chiropractic, this year’s athletic competitions will be held in neighboring Denton, Texas, on September 22 & 23 – marking NYCC’s eighth occasion to participate. On one of those occasions, NYCC took first place, and has taken third places three times in previous Chiropractic Games. The College has twice played host to more than 1,100 students from 12 competing schools. This September, NYCC’s athletes will compete against students from 13 other colleges: University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic, Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, Cleveland Chiropractic College-Kansas City , Cleveland Chiropractic-Los Angeles, Logan College of Chiropractic, National University of Health Sciences, Northwestern Health Sciences University, Palmer College of Chiropractic, Palmer College of Chiropractic-Florida, Palmer College of Chiropractic West, Parker College of Chiropractic, Los Angeles College of Chiropractic of the Southern California University of Health Sciences, and Texas Chiropractic College. The events include flag football, men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, tennis, softball, swimming, men’s and women’s soccer, golf, and track events such as a 5/K run (featuring an all female NYCC relay team!) The two-day event culminates Saturday evening with an awards ceremony at the Denton Civic Center to honor the victors of the athletic competitions.
