Seneca Falls Village Police are leading the investigation in the search for three men who have in their possession a high powered rifle, now identified as an M-16. Earlier reports said the gun could have been an AK-47. The three men are threatening to shoot people as well as commit robberies. Contrary to broadcast reports this morning that said the men had admitted to killing a person, police say there is no current on going homicide investigation in Seneca County.A man woke up his sister and her boyfriend just after 3:30 this morning by pounding on the windows of their Ovid Street home in Seneca Falls. The man is the brother of the unidentified Seneca Falls woman. She tells Finger Lakes News Radio that her brother has been on the run for three months because he violated parole. She also says he’s “drunk and using drugs”. Reports early this morning said the man was an Ovid resident.Police are searching Route 89, north of Routes 5&20. The three people are now thought to be traveling in a light colored Plymouth Breeze. First reports were that they men were driving a green Dodge Intrepid.Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies and State Police are assisting in the search. Anyone that might have information relating to the search or sees a light-colored Plymouth Breeze with three male occupants is asked to call 911.
