Sheriff Rob Outhouse reports that Sheriff’s Detectives became involved in an investigation into allegations of the sexual abuse of a 14 year old boy by his foster parents in the Town of Ira. A joint investigation was conducted with the Cayuga County Department of Social Services and as a result of that investigation both foster parents have been arrested. The investigation included the execution of a search warrant at the couple’s home on August 10th. Marla K. Connelly, 32, who resides at 12740 Maurer Road was arrested on August 10, 2006 at her residence and was charged with the following: Endangering the welfare of a child Misdemeanor 1 CountShe was released after being issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Ira Court.Martin S. Connelly, 40, who also resides at 12740 Maurer Road turned himself in to Detectives and was arrested on August 22, 2006 and charged with the following:Criminal Sexual Act in the second degree Felony 1 CountEndangering the welfare of a child Misdemeanor 1 CountMartin Connelly was arraigned in Auburn City Court today where he posted $1500 cash bail.
