There will be an organizational meeting tonight for those opposed to the expansion of the Geneva Wal-Mart into a Supercenter. This is the first meeting of a group that is opposed to the rezoning of land in the Town of Geneva to allow for the planned expansion. The group will focus on possible issues such as the negative impact to the local economy, increased traffic, possible job loss, and Wal-Mart’s wage issues. The group will also create an action plan for communicating to the Town of Geneva, Board of Supervisors, and generating petitions. The meeting tonight is at 7:30 at the Geneva Bicycle Center on Exchange Street, downtown Geneva.
