Wayne County Workers Stricken By Fumes

Problems at a Wayne County manufacturer overnight. Rnews reports – just after midnight – 20 workers at the Pliant Plant on Route 31 in Macedon were overcome by a strange odor. All 20 workers suffered chest pains and were taken to the hospital where they were treated and released. Haz-Mat crews from Wayne, Ontario and Seneca Counties were called to the scene. All 100 people in the plant were evacuated. Pliant Corporation makes plastic bags for the frozen food industry and medical packaging.
