Take Your Child To Work Day at NYCC

What do children imagine their parents’ work day is like? At New York Chiropractic College little will be left to the child’s imagination as they join their parents at work. NYCC is proud to participate in the Annual “Take Your Child to Work Day” on Thursday, April 27, 2006 at its campus in Seneca Falls. The children of all NYCC faculty and staff are welcome to experience a day filled with activities that will encourage them to learn more about what it is that Mom and/or Dad does each day. The day begins at 8:00 a.m. with breakfast in the dining hall and a welcome by Dr. J. Clay McDonald, Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs. Sue Pittenger, Director of the Career Development Center will present “What Do I Want to Be When I Grow Up,” and then the kids are free to spend time with their parent in their work environment. Dr. Wendy Maneri, Chief of Staff at the Campus Health Center will perform a chiropractic adjustment demonstration. Mercy Yule, Clinical Coordinator of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at the Seneca Falls Health Center will demonstrate Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Then, it’s off to tour the anatomy lab with Basic Sciences Department Head Dr. Robert Walker. Each child is provided with confirmation of their participation to bring back to school along with an explanation of how they spent their special day. “The event was so well received last year that we decided to do it again” said Human Resource Administrator, Chris McDermott. She is looking forward to an enjoyable and successful event again this time around and hopes to see many employees and their children take advantage of this opportunity.
