Status Of False Amber Alert Suspect At Issue

The Syracuse man accused of engaging in an illegal sexual relationship with a Geneva teenage girl was briefly taken back into custody yesterday over a dispute about his release status. An Onondaga County judge ordered 22-year old Connor Izard sent to jail on $50-THOUSAND dollars bail after prosecutors claimed Izard was violating a requirement of his electronic home confinement. Defense lawyers argued that Izards’ parents have digtial phone service and that cannot be used by the county probation department’s home confinement program. Izard was later released and ordered to undergo psychiatric testing. He is facing charges of rape and endangering the welfare of a child after he left Geneva December first with 16-year old Patricia Lyn Visco. The two met on the internet and were planning to run away to New York City. Visco last week pleaded guilty to a charge of falsely reporting an incident and will be sentenced March 16th.
