Prison City Rockers Return

The hottest, most danceable, most entertaining party band to ever come out of the prison city of Auburn, N.Y. will be rocking crowds once again this summer, the summer of ’06. Twenty five years after The Prison City Rockers spent their first summer together as a band, traveling and playing clubs and events throughout nearly every corner of New York State, the group is now back together for a limited number of “special appearances” at several large outdoor summertime engagements. From 1980 – 1983, as five musically talented kids, “The Rockers” played hundreds of shows and became one of Central New York’s most sought after bands. Frequently called to share the stage with the ever-popular Joe Whiting and the Bandit Band and Columbia recording artist Dakota, “The Rockers” also opened dates for Steppenwolf, Ten Years After, and The Grass Roots. After disbanding, over the next decade, individual “Rockers” played with numerous popular CNY bands including Joe Whiting, Prankster, Group Therapy, and The Velcros (Spider Murphy) to name a few, and others played music in Atlanta, L.A., and Dallas.1993 marked the year “The Rockers” reunited for what was supposed to be an eight week string of “10 year reunion” dates. Those eight weeks lasted for about the next seven years. This time around, The Prison City Rockers entertained and partied with hundreds of fans weekend after weekend, from club to club and event to event. During the “break” from 2000 till present “Rocker” have been found playing with groups such as The Toonz, Bob Piorun, Spellbound, The Flashbacks, Nic & The Nice Guys, NewBach Fly, and others. The ’06 plan: To take the best of the best of what we’ve done over ten years of “Rockers” rockin’. 40-minute non-stop “theme” medleys? No doubt! The best and most danceable “lost classics” and “one hit wonders” from the A.M. radio of the 60’s and 70’s? no doubt! The top “classic” hits from the 70’s F.M. radio dial? No doubt! The original MTV hit rotation? No doubt! A lick of 50’s “animal house” rock and roll and a smidgen of 80’s disco? Why not! More beat for your buck? Of course! Will it feel good? Most definitely.’06 rockin’ “Rocker” events being booked now! “We can’t wait to get out this ’06 summer and make our audiences “Dance ‘till they drop!” Just like the old days”.Bernie McNabb, Bob Bachta, Vic Tumbiolo, Rich Stevens, & Jeff NewhartFor booking info please call: 315-729-9999
