More Arrests In Waterloo Sexual Abuse Case

More arrests this week inconnection with an ongoing child sexual abuse and neglect investigation in Seneca County. Last Friday 38-year old Edwin Teeter of Waterloo was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, harassment, and unlawful imprisonment. Seneca County Sheriff Leo Connolly says Teeter restrained and subjected a 16-year old female to sexual contact. He also subjected a 13-year old female to sexual activity. The 16-year old lived with Teeter, the 13-year old was a neighbor. Investigators with the new Special Victims’ Unit then discovered another man at Teeter’s residence was involved in the sexual abuse. Arrested yesterday was 21-year old Charles McEneany. Police say there was a stay-away order of protection prohibiting any contact between McEneany and the 16-year old. The order was issued by a Newark Court after a prior sexual incident in Wayne County. McEneany was charged with rape, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal contempt. He was sent to the Seneca County jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bail bond. Also arrested yesterday was the 16-year old’s mother- 39-year old Louise VanBoxlaere. She was charged with endangering the welfare of a child for allowing the sexual contact between the men and her daughter. she was committed to jail on $2,000 cash or $4,000 bail bond. The 16-year old girl and her three younger sisters ages 7, 2, and 9-months were taken into Division of Human Services custody. The investigation continues and addition charges are pending.
