Waterloo Firefighters need lots of help Thursday afternoon when two house fires occured at the same time- one on the Waterloo Geneva Road and the other on Fayette Street near River Road.Just before 4-yesterday- firefighters from Waterloo, Border City, Geneva, Seneca Falls , and Red Jacket were called to 1180 Waterloo – Geneva Road . The home is unoccupied. Seneca County Sheriffs Deputies say the home is owned by 56-year old Paul Bates. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Waterloo Village Police say the home at 23 Fayette Street sustained $45,000 dollars worth of damage and the damage to a race car was about $20,000. The fire started when the homeowner- Michael Sutton-was transferring fuel in his garage. No one was injured. Waterloo, Seneca Falls, Red Jacket, Magee and Aurelius were called in to help fight the fire. The home was insured.
