An Auburn Doctor has been placed on probation for practicing negligently. Among other things, the state Board of Professional Medical conduct accuses gynecologist Dr. Ayodeji Lukula of preforming a hysterectomy on a patient a day after her innital visit to his office without trying nonsurgical options first. The Syracuse Post Standard reports Lukula- who operates a private practice at 143 North Street in Auburn- has been put on probation for three years. State officials charged him with 13- counts of professional misconduct- including gross incompetence, fraud, and failure to maintain records. Lukula is on the staff at Auburn Memorial Hospital and serves on the Cayuga County board of Health.
