Two anglers from the United Kingdom lead the World Carp Fishing Championship with just one day to go, but their largest fish caught this week in the St. Lawrence River between Ogdensburg and Massena is not as big as last years Finger Lakes Carp Derby winner. The Carp Championship-being held this week for the first time in the United States-features two person teams that fish for a week around the clock. The leaders so far have weighed in over 15-Hundred pounds of carp with the largest single fish at 34-and -a-half pounds. Last year’s Finger Lakes Carp Derby winner tipped the scales at over 35-pounds, the largest fish ever caught in the Seneca Falls-based tournament was over 45-pounds.
