Aspiring actors in upstate New York have an opportunity to meet and be assessed by Hollywood Talent Manager, Donnajeanne Goheen who has “discovered” many young actors around the country during the past decade and paved the way to successful careers in Hollywood. As Director of the Young Performers Studio, Goheen has guided dozens of kids and teens as they pursue acting careers, enabling them to acquire much needed audition skills and to travel to Hollywood to meet with agents and casting directors. Many of these young actors have even lived with Goheen while training in Los Angeles and can now be seen regularly on shows like Disney’s “Phil of the Future”, Nickelodeon’s “Unfabulous” and ABC’s “Desperate Housewives” as well as other tv shows, commercials, and films. Goheen will be conducting a one-day workshop at the Gould Hotel in Seneca Falls on Saturday, May 14. She will be assessing talent, teaching audition skills and informing parents on the ins and outs of Hollywood in a special seminar titled, “Taming the Showbiz Jungle”. Before becoming a talent manager, Goheen spent years as the parent of a successful young actor and cast many commercials, industrials and films so she knows what goes on both inside and outside the casting door. The workshops at the Gould Hotel will be for three age groups, 4-7, 6-10 and ages 10-18 and are limited to 8 to 14 students per age group. For complete information, call 888-351-1025 or visit the website at youngperformers.net. Local coordinator of the workshops is New York Talent manager Lori Ridley who can be reached at 315-539-0564.
