Syracuse recruit suspended from school

Syracuse recruit Tiki Mayben, a senior at Troy High School, has been suspended from school for an unspecified number of days, according to his AAU coach. Mayben was involved in an incident on the team’s bus following a loss in the sectional playoffs to Christian Brothers Academy of Albany on Feb. 25. Troy High athletic director Jack Fitzpatrick declined to comment about Mayben’s suspension on Monday, but Jim Hart, Mayben’s AAU coach, confirmed that he was “suspended for a few days.” Hart said Mayben is still trying to become academically eligible to play at Syracuse next year. If Mayben fails to qualify, he could attend a prep school. According to Hart, St. Thomas More and South Kent in Connecticut and The Winchendon (Mass.) School are possibilities.
