The Wayne County District Attorney’s Office has upgraded charges to attempted second-degree murder against a woman accused of slashing her granddaughter’s wrist. Vivian C. Brown, 57, of 14482 West Bay, Wolcott, is being held in jail without bail pending a mental examination, said District Attorney Richard Healy. She was arraigned in Arcadia Town Court. The incident occurred Jan. 17. The girl, 10, was visiting Brown when the grandmother asked the girl if she loved her. The girl replied “yes” and Brown told the girl to get her a knife, Healy said. The girl got the knife, and Brown slashed the girl’s wrists enough to require sutures. The girl broke free and ran next door to her father’s house.”Her intent was to kill the girl, because, as she said, (the girl) was evil and Christ told her to do so,” Healy said.
