The Geneva City Council has agreed to sell a vacant parcel on Exchange Street to two Syracuse-area men who want to open a laundromat. Councilor Jacqueline Augustine cast the only “no” vote, questioning whether a laundromat is the best business for the parcel, at the gateway to the city. She also questions whether the sale price of 15 thousand dollars is too low. Jerry O’Connell and his son, Tim plan to build a six thousand square foot building to house a coin-operated laundry. They say the building might also have room for two other businesses, and are soliciting tenants.
