The Red Jacket Redskins won the coin toss and drove immediately down the field for their first score led by running back Parker Ross. It was his first of three scores for the day. Quarterbacks Trevor Sanders and Bobby Ryan kept the Red Jacket offense moving throughout the game with Sanders converting a quarterback keeper in the 3rd quarter.The Redskins’ defense held Lyons scoreless in the 1st half. The defensive line, led by Kyle Cheasman, Matt Sutton, Tom Weed, Brody Watson & Brandan Jacob, applied pressure on the Lyons’ backfield. Lyons’ passes were broken up by linebackers Austin Sheets and Lane Kibble.With a 13-0 lead at the half, the Red Jacket defense continued to dominate, starting with a safety administered by Cody Ostrander. On their next possession, Shane Devlin, Zach Coyne& Nic Simmons threw key blocks to spring Parker Ross free for his 3rd touchdown.Key tackles in the backfield by Marissa Congdon, Derrick Man & Travis Brill kept Lyons to only 12 points in 2nd half. Clinton Whittaker finished off the game with a 65 yard drive up the middle which clutched their 3rd win of the season with a score of 35-12. All this heart pounding action can be watched on Cable Channel 12 at 6 pm on both Thursday 9/30 and Friday 10/1. On Sunday, October 17th RJ will be home again to play Waterloo. They then finish the season on the road at Geneva, Sunday 10/24.
