A Geneva man was sentenced Monday to three-years probation and ordered to pay the funeral expenses for a man that died after being assaulted outside a Geneva bar last May. 22-year old Joshua Burden was also sentenced to 200 hours of community service in connection with the death of 55-year old Kenneth Conley of the town of Seneca. Conley died when his head hit the pavement after he was punched by Burden outside the Holiday Bar on Exchange Street. Conley’s family is also pursuing a wrongful death lawsuit against Burden and they are working to change the law that allowed him to escape felony charges in the case. Kenneth Conley worked at the V-A Hospital in Canandaigua.
