A Texas man was stabbed to death in the parking lot of TGI Friday’s Wednesday night, and two co-workers were arrested today on murder charges. Ontario County Sheriff Philip Povero said the victim, 50-year-old Daniel Alvarado of LaGrange, Texas, was among a group of four men who are employed by a Houston-based company called Instal-Lite. The company was hired as a subcontractor to do glass work at the Sharper Image store, due to open soon at nearby Eastview Mall. According to the sheriff, the men had been at TGI Friday’s for several hours Wednesday evening, eating and drinking after work, when an argument started. Sometime about 10:30 p.m., Alvarado was repeatedly stabbed in the parking lot of the Route 96 restaurant, Povero said. “We know there was an argument, but we haven’t exactly pinpointed what brought it all about,” the sheriff said today. Povero said that when deputies responded to a report of a fight in the restaurant parking lot, they found Alvarado on the ground, with co-worker Robert Leos of Houston applying pressure in an apparent attempt to stop the bleeding. With information from the scene and from the 911 Center, the deputies soon located the other two co-workers, Ruben Moreno, 28, and his brother, Emilio Moreno Jr., 30, at a nearby gas station. Alvarado was taken by Victor-Farmington Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, where he was pronounced dead. The body was later taken to the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. This morning, Ruben Moreno, of Stafford, Texas, and Emilio Moreno Jr., of Pasadena, Texas, were arrested on murder charges. Both were arraigned in Victor Town Court and sent to the Ontario County Jail without bail. Leos, 28, was not charged.
