Today marks five months since the body of a young woman was found in a bed that had caught fire in a third floor apartment in downtown Geneva. 18-year old Elizabeth McKoy, had only lived there for a couple of weeks. Geneva Police have been investigating McKoy’s death ever since. Twenty two- days before McKoy’s death, Ashley Vincent never made it home from a friend’s house a few blocks away. Her mother reported Ashley missing after she didn’t come home for dinner on December 29. Vincent’s body was found March 1 behind a dumpster several feet from her home. Geneva Police Chief Frank Pane tells R News his officers are still actively working on the case and conducting interviews “right now.” Pane referred to the investigation as “progressing rapidly” but offered no further comment. Investigators still have not said whether the deaths are related or not.
