PY Board Discusses Budget

Penn Yan Mayor Doug Marchionda, Junior calls the proposed five-point-seven percent tax hike in next year’s village budget realistic. The Mayor and Village Board reviewed the two-point-one million dollar spending plan at last night’s meeting. Marchinoda says the increase is the best officials can do in light of increasing employee health care and retirement costs. The board is expected to approve the budget at its April 27th meeting.
