Cayuga County Attorney Resigns

Citing time constraints, Cayuga County Attorney David O’Connor is stepping down. O’Connor says he needs to devote more time to his private practice in Weedsport. According to published reports, O’Connor says the position, technically a part time job, has become full time. The resignation, which takes effect immediately, came as a surprise to County Legislature Chair Herb Marshall, who says O’Connor told him yesterday at noon. Assistant County Attorney Fred Westphal will fill in until a permanent replacement can be found.
