SU Hoops Games on TV in Finger Lakes

Syracuse Basketball fans in the Finger Lakes and Western New York will be able cheer on the National Champions from the comfort of their living room couch, thanks to a Rochester TV station and Time Warner Cable. Current published schedules have shown the Orangemen to be televised locally just 11 times during their regular season 27-game schedule. That’s where Rochester’s WB 16 (Finger Lakes Time- Warner Channel 16) provides a service, some could argue is as big as Hakim Warrick coming out of nowhere to swat away Michael Lee’s 3-point shot with 1.5 seconds left in the championship game. Rochester’s WB 16 will televise 8-Syracuse games which otherwise would not be shown by cable sports channels or on network sports broadcasts. Rochester’s WB 16 announced today that they will televise games listed as being shown only in Syracuse on Time-Warner’s’ TW-26. Those games are: St. Johns at Syracuse (1/7/04), Boston College at Syracuse (1/10/04), Syracuse at Seaton Hall (1/20/04), Virginia Tech at Syracuse (1/31/04), Syracuse at Providence (2/7/04), Rutgers at Syracuse (2/10/03), Syracuse at Miami (2/14/04) and Syracuse at West Virginia (3/02/04). Time-Warner will provide the TV coverage of Syracuse’s first regular season game. Wednesday’s neutral-site game in Rochester against St. Bonaventure will be shown in the Finger Lakes on Time-Warner channel 98. After the St. Bonaventure game, the following six games: Binghamton, Manhattan, Siena, Colgate, NC-Asheville, and Canisus will have fans close to their radios, as these tune-up games will not be televised. The rest of the regular season will have the National Champions looking to repeat on ESPN, ESPN2, and CBS. Rochester’s WB 16 will also televise 11-Big East Conference games featuring teams other than Syracuse.

All Syracuse Orangemen basketball games can be heard on local radio on the Finger Lakes News Network stations.
