Anti-Indian Motorcade Planned

Upstate Citizens for Equality announced Wednesday that they are planning a motorcade-protest against the tax-free sales of gasoline and cigarettes by Native Americans.The motorcade-November 22nd- begins at 10am and will last until Noon. It forms at Cayuga Lake State Park on Route 89 in Seneca Falls.Starting December 1st, 2003 the New York State Legislature has mandated that the state begin collecting sales and excise taxes on purchases made by non-Indians at tribal run businesses.The Cayuga Indians have two gas stations selling low priced fuel and cigarettes, one in Union Springs and one in Seneca Falls. The tribe has repeatedly said that they will not pay the tax.www.ucelandclaim.com
