FL Radio Group aquires WFLR out of Dundee

The Finger Lakes Radio Group, Inc., based in Geneva, New York has agreed to buy the assets of WFLR AM 1570 and FM 95.9 from Lakes County Communications.WFLR AM serves Penn Yan, Dundee, and Watkins Glen, New York with a country format while WFLR FM serves five counties in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York with an Adult Contemporary format.“WFLR has an outstanding reputation for local news, sports, and events. As we’ve upgraded our local news effort, WFLR is a perfect compliment. This acquisition gives us even more regional strength when competing with media from Rochester, Syracuse, and Elmira”, said Alan Bishop, partner and General Manager of the Finger Lakes Radio Group.The Finger Lakes Radio Group is owned by long-time broadcasters George W. Kimble and Alan Bishop. They own and operate WNYR-FM/Waterloo, NY, WLLW/Seneca Falls, NY, WCGR/Canandaigua, New York, WGVA/Geneva, NY, WSFW/Seneca Falls, NY and WAUB/Auburn, NY.
