Several Hurt in 2-Car Head-on Crash in S.F.

UPDATE 7/30 @ 6:32 am: A driver passing on a double yellow line was the cause of a two car head on collision on East Bayard Street in Seneca Falls last night. 54-year-old Lynn Calls had to be freed from her car after the collision when 24-year-old Justin Reynolds tried to pass another car. Both Reynolds and Calls had to be flown by Mercy Flight to University Hospital where they have both undergone surgery and are listed in guarded condition.

UPDATE 7/29 @ 11:32 pm: A police report on the accident states that the accident was caused by a vehicle that passed on a double line. Charges pending… One woman involved is now undergoing surgery in Syracuse for injuries. ORIGINAL REPORT 7/29 @ 6:36 pm: Just before 5pm Tuesday, two cars hit head-on on East Bayard Street Ext. in Seneca Falls near the Goulds Water Systems Plant. Several people were hurt. Rescue personnel had to cut away part of one car to free a passenger. One car ended up in the middle of the road, while the other was several hundred feet away in a front yard. Mercy Flight and a helicopter from Onondaga County were called to help transport the victims.Seneca County District Attorney Richard Swinehart was called to the scene to help in the investigation. – Greg Cotterill reporting for Fingerlakes1.com
