Gregory Cotterill has joined the staff of Hobart and William Smith Colleges’ radio station, WEOS-FM, as assistant station manager for membership and underwriting. The position entails coordinating and executing the fundraising plan for WEOS. This includes underwriting solicitation, membership, outreach, promotion, and other support efforts with both volunteer student and community assistants. Before joining the staff at WEOS, Cotterill was a sales representative for Timber Harvester Portable Band Sawmills, in Waterloo, N.Y., and previously worked as news director and webmaster for The Radio Group, in Geneva. Cotterill was president of the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce from 1994 to 1997. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications.The position is funded in part by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.WEOS is the public radio service of the Colleges, providing public outreach to the community, and opportunities for students, staff, and community members to participate in the medium of radio. WEOS is a member of National Public Radio and Public Radio International. Located at 89.7 MHz, the Geneva, N.Y., station reaches an audience of about 75,000 people and is also available on the World Wide Web at www.weos.org. The station also broadcasts at 90.3 FM in Geneva, and 88.1 FM in Ithaca.
