(Canandaigua) A Canandaigua business could be reminded the hard way about the states new smoking ban. There are published reports, Meridian Automotive Systems allowed smoking in the employee break room late last week after the states new smoking ban went into effect. A formal complain was filed by an employee who walked off the job. A company spokesperson claims the law is being followed. Meanwhile, the head of the state Conservative Party is questioning the fine schedule. Chairman Michael Long says lawmaker’s logic is skued when smoking a legal product in a public building would result in a larger fine than smoking marijuana.
