Dresden teen leads police on high speed chase

(Penn Yan) ? An Yates County teen lead Penn Yan Village Police on a high speed chase last night. According to Penn Yan Police Chief Steven Hill, 18-year-old Craig A. Dunning of Dresden was clocked by a village police officer while traveling at 66 mph in a 30 mph zone. The police officer initiated his emergency lights and tried to stop Dunning but he failed to pull over. After leading the officer down Spiles Road Dunning?s vehicle and the police cruiser both traveled off of the roadway and into a field near the corner of Outlet Road. Neither the police officer nor the suspect were injured.After a foot chase other officers were able to take Dunning into custody where he is presently being held pending charges. The police cruiser only suffered minor damage according to Chief Hill.
